CRISTINA DE HOLLANDA
Cristina is counsel to the firm. She is admitted to practice law in Brasil and New York.
Cristina has more than 10 years experience in intellectual property, litigation and transactional matters. She began her legal career as an intern at the Rio de Janeiro Stock Exchange, later joining a leading Rio de Janeiro law firm specializing in intellectual property law. In that capacity she advised local and international clients on a broad range of patent, trademark and copyright matters, also serving as Brasilian counsel to major U.S. and European corporations in stock and asset acquisitions and in licensing transactions. She subsequently served as General Counsel to a Brasilian company providing services in the healthcare testing area, responsible for all legal matters, including regulatory compliance, including obtaining U.S. Government accreditation for the company as a CLLIA ’88 proficiency test provider.
Cristina graduated with a degree in law from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) in Rio de Janeiro and later earned Masters degrees in intellectual property law from both the London School of Economics in London and Fordham University in New York. She has authored several published articles on intellectual property, traditional knowledge and digital evidence; she also received the 2001 Brasilian Bar Association Award for research on software patentability. She is fluent in English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.
